Members of the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation have chosen a familiar name to lead...a former Grand Island City Councilman.
Randy Gard was chosen by the Board of Trustees and he will start in the beginning of September.
Gard spoke with KRGI News and he says he's ready to get to work.
Gard says, "Most of my entire career in business and business development and trying to find new opportunities. It's really a dream job for me."
Gard takes over for Marlen Ferguson who left the position to become the new city administrator for the city of Aurora.
Gard starts September 1st.
