Man arrested for HWY 281 Accident Appears In Court

The man arrested by the Hall County Sheriff's Office in connection to the death of a Grand Island man killed in an accident south of the city yesterday made his first court appeared in court Tuesday.

 

Watson says that 28-year-old Jerry Ray Ramirez was traveling with 30-year-old Hermino Alamilla of Lincoln who lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Ramirez was ejected from the vehicle.

 

Watson says Ramirez died from injuries he sustained from the accident on HWY 281 and Guenther Road.

 

Alamilla was taken to St. Francis Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries and appeared in Hall County Court this morning.

 

Alamilla is charged with felony motor vehicle homicide, refusing to submit to a chemical test, obstructing an officer and also faces habitual criminal charges.

 

Bond was set at 100,000-dollars and Alamilla's preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 1st at 2:30.
