A women's conference that discussed the wage gap between men and women and how to get more women involved in higher paying positions was discussed in detail last night at the Grand Island YWCA.
Lincoln State Senator Amanda McGill was the lead speaker last night speaking about the importance of achieving equality in the workplace.
She says women need to play a more active role in everyday society.
McGill says that studies show that women in Nebraska make 79-cents for every dollar a man makes in a related field.
She says while some progress has been made, there is still a long way to go.
