HWY 30 Crash Sends Two To Hospital

The names of two people involved in a vehicle crash on HWY 30 west of Grand Island have been released by the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Clark Finecy tells KRGI News that 65-year-old Edicta Velasquez-Hernandez of St. Libory and 23-year-old

Cassandra Quickbear of Wood River were both taken to St. Francis Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.

Finecy says the crash occurred about 7:40 Thursday morning when Velasquez-Hernandez's jeep was traveling east on Husker Highway and came to a stop sign.

She pulled out in front of Quickbear's car; causing injuries to both.

The crash kept emergency responders busy and slowed traffic this for about an hour and half.

Officials with the Grand Island Rural Fire Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Hall County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Island Police Department were all on the scene. Both are listed in stable condition.
