Accused Glenvil Murderer Waives Preliminary Hearing; Bound to District Court

Michael L Petersen

The 58-year-old Glenvil man accused of murdering two people in Hall and Buffalo Counties waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday and had his case bound over to district court.

Both Hall County Attorney Mark Young and Buffalo County Attorney Shawn Eatherton appeared in Hall County Court to lay out the case against suspect Michael Petersen.

Petersen and his attorney waived their preliminary hearing in exchange for access to pre-sentence investigation reports to begin trial preparations.

Petersen is accused of gunning down his ex-wife Nancy Petersen and her divorce attorney Todd Elsbernd in November.

Nancy Petersen was shot in Buffalo County while Elsbernd was gunned down outside his law office in downtown Grand Island. Michael Petersen will appear in Hall County District Court on February 18th at 9AM.
