Preliminary spending plans regarding the Hall County Courthouse were unveiled Wednesday by County Board Chairman Bob McFarland who spoke about a number of options to fix-up the aging facility.
During a press conference, McFarland talked about six possible options to fix the courthouse, ranging from nine to $14-million.
McFarland says he wants to make sure that whatever comes out of this project, it should last for a long time.
McFarland says, "I feel an addition would be the way to go. But I haven't decided which one yet. I think there are several things, we have to obviously be concerned about the costs. We have to take a look how it functions."
One plan also includes the possibility of demolishing the old jail building and the current HHS Building near the courthouse.
Also, the county judges would move into the new edition while the district judges would stay in the historical building.
The Hall County Board will hear a presentation next week during its meeting discussing courthouse renovation options.
