Despite a scare within the Burwell Public School District, the Principal of Burwell Junior-Senior High School says that both staff and students are trying approach the situation as normally as possible.
New regulations were instituted recently after an alleged hit-list made its way to city hall last week, frightening parents and the community.
Superintendent Dan Bird spoke with KRGI News and he says both staff and students remain vigilant of any suspicious activity.
Bird says the district has taken several precautions including:
1. The school is now a closed campus.
2. All bags entering the school during the day will be checked by school officials. That also includes guests and visitors.
3. All high school students and staff will park in the high school parking lot.
Bird says he expects these precautions to stay in place for the rest of the school year. Authorities continue to investigate who sent the list.
