During an emergency, sometimes there's a need to transport a victim or patient quickly to get immediate care from a Nebraska hospital.
Now that Life team is stationed in Grand Island, the crew hopes their presence will make a difference in matters that are life or death.
The Life Team Crew was training with Grand Island Firefighters recently to get everyone familiar with how to load a patient into a helicopter and how to keep everyone safe.
Life Team Program Development Director Michael Johnson says the training is vital for everyone's safety.
Johnson says, "If there is a car wreck, we'll respond in tandem with Grand Island Fire and land straight on the highway. But, we need to have them know what we need to keep us safe, them safe and the entire scene safe."
Life Team is stationed out of the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island.
