Ferguson becomes Aurora City Administrator

The city of Aurora has chosen a new city administrator and it's a name a lot of people in Grand Island are familiar with. Marlen Ferguson has been offered the job, beating out two other candidates.

Mayor Marlin Seeman and the Aurora City Council voted unanimously last night to offer the job to Ferguson.

Seeman spoke with KRGI News at the meeting and he says Ferguson was chosen because he was the right fit.

Seeman says, "We found three candidates that had the skill set. Mr. Ferguson appealed to us and me as mayor and that was an easy decision."

Ferguson says he's ready to get to work.

Ferguson says, "Truly is exciting...Aurora is great little community and spent the day over there going around with different groups and talking about the things going on in Aurora."

The council also expressed similar views praising all candidates, but saying Ferguson was the best man for the job.
